Your Worth at Work

“And the LORD God took the man, and PUT him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” (Gen. 2:15)
Are you unhappy where you work? You will look at your job differently when you realize that God has a purpose for you being there. The verse above tells us that God “put” (or placed) Adam in the garden. It was God’s will for Adam to work in the garden. God wanted Adam to fulfill His plan in the garden.
You may not have the best of working environments, but it will change your outlook toward your job when you say, “God has given me a responsibility at work to help Him fulfill His purpose in this world and bring glory to Him.”
See, your value and worth as a Christian is not attached to a PAYCHECK, it’s attached to a PURPOSE! Many are miserable because nothing they do is connected to God’s purpose in the world.
That’s how the apostle Paul could write (while in prison), “Rejoice in the LORD always…” Why? Because his worth wasn’t attached to a PLACE (prison); it was attached to a PURPOSE… to glorify God IN the prison.
So when you go to work, ask yourself this: “In what way can I glorify God at work today?” You will be amazed how it transforms your work life!
