“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way…” (Psalm 37:7)
Many times we become impatient and rush ahead of God to get the things we WANT, instead of resting in the LORD and waiting patiently for Him to give us what we need…when we need it. We get our eyes on someone else “who prospereth in his way” and we become envious. The more we look at what others have, or have accumulated, we become discontent.
The Bible says in 1 Tim. 6:6-7 that “..godliness with contentment is great gain.” Why? Because “we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” Sometimes, even the “right” thing at the “wrong” time can hurt us, as well. So, wait on the LORD, today. He knows what is best.
