(Luke 6:21) “Blessed are ye that hunger…for ye shall be filled.”
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to be hungry. If I go hungry for very long, it can affect my mood; I go from hungry to HANGRY! Can you relate? Can I get a witness?
But did you know that hunger can be a blessing? If we never felt hunger pains, we wouldn’t eat. And if we never ate, we would starve to death!
The same is true, spiritually. That is why Jesus said, “Blessed are ye that hunger.” Why? Because those who hunger are the ones who “shall be filled.” A person will not eat if they are not hungry. We have a two-and-a-half-year-old grandson, and if he is not hungry there is nothing we can do to make them eat.
Do you know why the average Christian does not have a daily quiet time with the Lord? They are not hungry for it. Do you know why the average church member can listen to Bible preaching, yet it not change their lives? Simple. They are not hungry for it.
Jesus says that the HAPPY Christian is the HUNGRY Christian. So, how hungry are you, today?
