Making Room for God’s Presence

The Ark of the Covenant represented the presence of God. In (2 Sam. 6) it was placed for 3 months in the home of Obededom and as a result his home and family were blessed by God.

Obededom had to prepare his house to receive the Ark. No doubt things had to be rearranged. Whatever was in the place where the Ark was going to sit, had to be removed to make room for the Ark.

Friend, if you want to have the presence of God in your home, and in your life, you are going to have to make room for it. The reason so many are living without God’s presence and power in their lives is because too many worldly things are crowding it out!

I wonder what might be in YOUR life right now that God is saying, “If you will be willing to remove that from your life, then you can have my presence again.” Maybe it’s music. Maybe it’s a rebellious attitude. What are you holding on to that is keeping God’s presence and power from your life?
