“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God…” (Heb. 12:15)
Wouldn’t it be nice to succeed at everything you did in life? Well, the truth about the matter is failure is a part of life. The difference between those who have succeeded in life and those who haven’t is…those who succeeded didn’t let their failures define them.
Whether or not you become a success will be determined by what you do with your failures. Here are three ways to fail successfully.
1. FAIL EARLY
It may sound strange to say you should fail early, but if you think about it, the sooner you fail at something the sooner you can succeed at it. See, growth comes from failure IF you are wise enough to LEARN from your failure.
Don’t let your failure defeat you because failure is often a big part of success.
2. FAIL OFTEN
The person who never fails is a person who never tries anything. You will never have great reward without great risk. Don’t be afraid to fail. Be afraid of not even trying.
Someone asked the famous inventor, Thomas Edison, why he didn’t just quit trying to invent the lightbulb after he had failed so many times. Edison said, “I have not failed. I have simply found 10,000 ways that won’t work!”
3. FAIL FORWARD
As long as you learn from your failures you will fail forward. Let your failures teach you how to succeed. Great success is often birthed from great struggle so look at your struggle as something that is preparing you to succeed later.
No matter how many times you fail, remember this: FAILURE ISN’T FINAL! Keep getting back up and let God use your past failure to lead you on to future success!
