“And [pray] for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,” (Eph. 6:19)
Often, people complain about the pastor and how they wish he were more exciting to listen to. Here are 4 ways to get a new pastor.
#1—PRAY FOR HIM
Your pastor has often had to fight Hell by the acre and then get up and try to encourage you! Spend some time in prayer for him, asking God to put a hedge of protection around him and his family. Ask God to fill him with the power of God and lead him in the messages he needs to preach.
Paul said, “Pray for me ‘that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel’.” Ask God to give your pastor boldness to preach the Word without compromise.
Invest in your pastor by praying for him. It will be the best investment you can make!
#2—ATTEND CHURCH FAITHFULLY
Nothing discourages a pastor more than to look out at an empty pew where church members usually sit and wonder why they are not there. He often wonders if you are missing because you are upset over something he said or did. It discourages him to know he spent hours preparing a message that you are not there to hear.
On the other hand, nothing encourages your pastor more than seeing you and your family in your place week after week.
Satan loves to play mind games with your pastor because it will hinder him from effectively preaching God’s Word. So, don’t give Satan any ammunition to work with. Being faithful will encourage and fire your pastor up!
