“And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” (Acts 4:7)
Peter and John were being used by God in a mighty way. Not only had God given them boldness in their preaching, He was also performing miracles through them. One forty-year-old man, who had been lame from birth, was healed and went into the temple with Peter and John “walking, and leaping, and praising God” (Acts 3:8).
The next day, the rulers, the elders, and the scribes met together and asked Peter and John, “By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” They knew that having a lame man healed was not something you see every day. They knew there was something different about Peter and John and they wanted to know what it was.
I wonder, do sinners who are around you know there is something different about you? Do they see a difference in the way you walk, the way you talk, and the way you live for God? You and I may not be able to speak to a lame man and heal him like Peter and John, but by the way we live our lives the world should see the miracle God has worked in us!
Today, ask God to give you the courage and boldness to take a stand for Him. Determine to live so differently in front of those around you that they will want to ask you, “How do you do that?”
