“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn…” (Isaiah 54:17)
Not everything works as planned. For example, a woman devised a seemingly sure-fire way to rob a bank and decided to build a “stink bomb” as her weapon of choice.
The day of the robbery came. She loaded her “stink bomb” into a bag and walked into the bank. As she approached the cashier, she told him she had explosives in her bag that she would use unless he gave her all the money he had in his drawer.
That’s when her plan took a turn for the worse!
When she dropped her bag onto the counter, she accidentally triggered the stink bomb. As the nasty smell began to fill the air, the woman took off running out of the building with the bank security following after her. As you would imagine, the police had no trouble finding the “stinky” suspect.
Reading that story reminded me of what God told Isaiah about any weapons Satan may try to use against His people. He said, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…”
Satan is wise, there is no doubt. He has been doing a lot of surveillance and has been studying the weaknesses of humans for thousands of years. You can be sure that he has a host of diabolical plans and weapons at his disposal. He has plenty of “stink bombs” ready and waiting for us.
But we serve a God Who is bigger and more powerful than Satan. And He has promised to protect us from Satan’s weapons if only we will “Put on the whole armor of God…” (Eph. 6:11).
Are you wearing the armor of God, this morning? Put it on before Satan detonates his “stink bomb” in your life.
