It is easy to get into a habit of saying “quick” prayers so that we can get on with our busy day. But the truth is, none of us like it when we want to talk to someone but they are in a hurry, as if they don’t have time for us. Yet, we often treat God the same way during our prayer time, don’t we? Maybe that is why God said, “Be still and know that I am God” (Ps. 46:10).
