“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous…The face of the LORD is against them that do evil…” (Ps. 34:15-16)
There are two forces at work in this world: God (Who is righteous), and Satan (who is evil). Every decision we make is either leading us a step toward righteousness or a step toward evil.
Today, we have one of the biggest decisions to make regarding the future of America. Neither candidate for president is completely righteous. No candidate running for congress is completely righteous. So, what are we to do?
While we cannot vote for a perfectly righteous candidate, we CAN vote for those candidates whose policies will lead us one step CLOSER to righteousness. When we vote for candidates who are pro-life, and who stand for religious liberty (which protects our freedom to continue preaching the gospel), we are taking another step toward righteousness.
Why is voting for righteousness so important? Because (v.16) says, “The face of the LORD is against them that do evil…” When we honor God, He blesses us. But when we dishonor Him, and choose evil over righteousness, then our country will not prosper because “The face of the LORD” will be against us.
So, when you go into the voting booth, today, take a step toward righteousness!
