Do You Look Like A Servant?

When Jesus, the King of all glory, left His throne in Heaven and came to earth, He had every right to set up His throne here and demand to be treated like the royalty He is.

Instead, the Bible tells us in (Phil. 2:7) that he “made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant…”

What? Me become a servant? That goes against what the world says we should be doing. We are supposed to be building a name for ourselves. We are supposed to be climbing high up the corporate ladder of success so that we can enjoy the accolades of man.

But that’s not what Jesus did. The God of all the universe came down to earth, and then came down even further by taking on “the form of a servant.”

I submit to you that the more like Jesus Christ you really are, the more like a servant you will become!

The most spiritual members in your church are not the ones clamoring and politicking for a position in the spotlight; it may be that one who quietly and humbly cleans the toilet no one else want to touch. It could be that man or woman who serves in the background simply because they have taken on “the form of a servant.”

John the Baptist said, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). The BIGGER you make yourself, the SMALLER you reflect Jesus. The MORE people see of you, the LESS they are seeing of Him.

Today, ask God to help you take on “the form of a servant” so that instead of the spotlight being upon YOU, it will be upon JESUS!
