Finally!

“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord.” (Phil. 3:1)

Have you ever heard a preacher say, “In conclusion,” then preach another 30 minutes? Well, it is interesting to note that Paul uses the word “finally” in his letter to the Philippian church, yet he writes two more chapters! If any preacher wanted scriptural authority for a long conclusion to his sermon, I guess Paul gives it to him, here!

Maybe he intended to finish but evidently the Holy Spirit wasn’t finished, yet!

What a lesson for us. Sometimes our plans are to do one thing, but God has other plans. How often have we gotten upset or irritated because our plans did not go as we had planned them?

Think about the treasure of truth Paul gives us in the last two chapters of Philippians that we would never have known had Paul not been willing to accept the seemingly divine interruption!

It would do us good to learn not to get all worked up and irritated when we get interrupted. It could be God wanting to turn your interruption into an opportunity.
