Follow Me

“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1Cor. 11:1)

Everyone has someone following them. Everyone has someone looking up to them. The singles look up to the young married couples and long for the day they too can be married like they are. Older teenagers look up to the single adults and long for the day when they will be out of school and have the “freedom” they see in the life of the singles. 13 & 14-year-old teens look up to the 16-year-olds who can drive a car. Younger children look up to the 13-year-olds and can’t wait until they turn 13 and can also be part of the teen youth group.

We all have someone looking up to us. Paul said, “Be ye followers of me…” Someone is following you but the question is where are you leading them? Paul was conscious of the fact that there were people following them so he wanted to be the right example by being a follower of Christ. If Paul followed Christ, then when others followed Him, THEY TOO would become a follower of Christ.

Mom and Dad, will your children become followers of Christ by following you? Hey, young married couples, single adults, and teenagers….will those who are looking up to you become followers of Christ by following you? Hey sir, or ma’am…will those whom you work with become a follower of Christ if they follow your example at work?

May our lives lead other lives to Christ when they follow our example in front of them.
