From East To West

“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Ps. 103:12)

When it comes to the sin we confess to God, the Bible says that God removes them “As far as the east is from the west.” Now, if it had said He removes them “As far as the north is from the south” that is still quite a distance.  If you were to begin at the South Pole and travel north, you would have to travel approximately 12, 430 miles until you eventually reach the North Pole, the furtherest a person can travel north.

Now that would be an amazing distance, to know that is how far away from us God has removed our sins. But it doesn’t say that. It says God removes our sins, “As far as the east is from the west.” Once you reach the North Pole, you immediately begin traveling south again.

But it is different when you travel east to west. When you start moving from the east to the west, there is no end! When you go west, you never stop going west. There is no point at which you have reached the end of west and begin going east again.

Praise God, that is how far away the Bible says our sin has been removed from us! That is how far God has removed our transgressions from us! God has removed them so far away that we will NEVER encounter them again!
