(Ps. 31:24) “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.”
There are times in life when we allow our circumstances to take away our courage and strength. We are tempted to doubt that God really can work something good out of something so bad. David knew what that was like.
How did you survive that feeling of hopelessness, David? How are you able to make it day by day, not knowing how it will all work out? What is the answer?
I can imagine David, as he puts down his pen and stops writing. He looks up with a smile on his face and says, “Hope in the Lord. That is the key.”The word “hope” doesn’t mean wishful thinking as we use it many times, like “I hope I get that job.” Here, it means to be patient; to wait. In other words, God will strengthen our hearts when we wait patiently for Him to do all He has planned for us in our circumstances.
So, whatever you are facing, today, “hope in the Lord.”
