Today we canceled our services due to the snow and ice. As I look out over our yard this morning, I see snow everywhere. What once was dirt and grass and weeds, now looks pure white because it all has been covered by the snow.
Seeing the snow reminded me of: (Psalm 85:2) “Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast COVERED all their sin. Selah.” It also reminded me of: (Rom. 4:7) that says, “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are COVERED.”
As you enjoy the snow today, think about all the sins in your life that God has completely covered by His love, mercy, and grace! As the hymn says:
Calvary covers it all,
My past with its sin and stain;
My guilt and despair
Jesus took on Him there,
And Calvary covers it all.
ONE FINAL THOUGHT:
Along with the snow came ice, too! Ice is cold, hard, and can be dangerous. While some can say their sins have been covered by the blood of Jesus, there are others whose hearts are still cold and hard towards God. I trust that if that describes you, you will give your heart to Jesus and let Him cover your sins in His blood today!
