“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Cor. 15:57)
There was once a Frenchman who became an Englishman because he so admired the British way of life. He had lived in England so long he decided to officially change his citizenship from France to England.
Later, somebody asked him what difference it made. He said to them, “Well, among other things, I find that now instead of losing the battle of Waterloo, I’ve won it!” By changing his citizenship he had stepped into the heritage of all the Britain had fought for and all that Britain had won. Their victories had now become his victories.
When you and I step into Christ, we step into the resurrection life and all that Christ has achieved. All that Christ has won becomes ours! We no longer have to live in defeat. Why? Because God has “giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
So, today, thank God for the victory He has given you and walk in it!
