Peace with God

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (Rom. 5:1)

Millions of dollars are spent each year on products or services promising to relieve stress and hopefully bring a measure of peace to a person. They even have stress balls a person can keep in their hand and squeezing it when you are stressful will supposedly help reduce your anxiety levels.

The trouble is, man’s lack of peace does not stem from things that are EXTERNAL; a lack of peace is something that is INTERNAL. When there is peace in our heart, it will bring peace outwardly. The good news is that the Bible tells us how to have peace no matter how stressful our circumstances may become.

But before I tell you how to have the peace OF God, if you are not sure of your salvation you first need to make peace WITH God. See, an unbeliever is not at PEACE with God, he is at WAR with Him!

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)

Notice in our main verse above, the Bible clearly tells us that the peace of God comes only through Jesus Christ after we are justified by our faith in Him. It says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

You will never find true peace for your heart at the bottom of an alcohol bottle. Peace cannot be inserted into your soul through a drug needle. There is only one place true peace of mind and spirit can be found and that is through Jesus Christ.

Do you have peace when you lay down at night that if you died you would go to heaven? If not, then you have not made peace WITH God, yet. Sadly, the Bible says the wrath of God abides on you.

Tomorrow, I will tell you how to have the peace OF God, but first you must make peace WITH God. Bow your head right now. Confess that you are a sinner and by faith trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. Then, and only then will you have peace WITH God.
