Sunday’s Coming!

(Luke 24:1-2) “Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre…And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.”

When the crucifixion took place, and Jesus hung on the cross, all hope seemed gone for the disciples of Jesus. All of their hopes and dreams for this new “Kingdom” Jesus had talked about, and they had preached about, suddenly vanished.

It was Saturday night. There was no church service in progress. There was no preaching, singing, or fellowship. There was no joy and no laughter. Why? Because their leader was dead. But in their discouragement and despair, the one thing they failed to realize was—Sunday’s coming!

When Sunday came, hope came back! When Sunday came, a new joy and excitement replaced the doom and gloom! It was a new day; a glorious day. This was….Resurrection Sunday!

Hey, friend…you might be going through the worst trial of your life. You might be facing the most difficult storm you have ever faced. Look up, child of God…SUNDAY’S COMING! Jesus is alive and God is still on His throne! One of these days He will return and, when He does, none of the things we are facing now will bother us one ounce!

This is not the time to hang our head in defeat. Oh, no, friend…Sunday’s coming!
