That Nothing Be Lost

Last Sunday, Bro. Johnny Hudson was our guest speaker at Community Baptist Church for our “FRIEND DAY.” He did a tremendous job and was used of God in a great way.

On Sunday night, Bro. Hudson brought a message from John 6 on “The Fragments.” It was a great message which pointed out that the fragments were quite possibly the leftover food from the loves and fishes which had fallen to the ground while the people ate. It was the broken, trampled pieces, yet Jesus told the disciples to “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” Jesus cared about the fragments.

After hearing his message, I began thinking about the next phrase in that verse which says, “..that nothing be lost.” Now, we know that a believer CANNOT lose their salvation, so this is obviously not what this verse is talking about.

I believe that if the fragments are the broken, trampled pieces (people) that God wants to use, this phrase represents the possibility that some fragments COULD be lost, and therefore unusable. Again, I do not believe this is referring to salvation, but I believe it might be referring to the lost opportunities those broken, trampled, fragments had to be used by God, but because they did not allow Him to do so, they lost their potential to be used of God.

Maybe your life has been broken, or maybe you feel you have been damaged or trampled in life. The good news is that God is seeking the fragments. He is looking for broken lives that He can restore because you still have the potential to be used of Him. Don’t let sin or bitterness cause you to lose the opportunity you have to do something great for God again.

God is seeking you, today, to restore you “..that nothing be lost.”
