(Rev 1:4) “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come;”
In John’s day, the church was experiencing extreme persecution and many were even being killed for their faith. They were discouraged and God told John to write to the seven churches in Asia and let them know He had not forgotten them. He had special “Grace” and “peace” for them during those trying times.
Well we are starting to see persecution coming our way as well. We are living in difficult, dangerous times my friend…and it’s only going to get worse until the LORD comes back.
“That’s not very encouraging, Bro. Mark.” Maybe not, but I’ll tell you what IS encouraging. The same God who had GRACE and PEACE for those believers back then is the same God Who has GRACE and PEACE for us today!
Yes, these are difficult and discouraging times, but if you will stay on your knees and in God’s Word He will give you the GRACE and PEACE you need to make it each day.
Take a moment to thank Him for His GRACE today–His SAVING grace, and His SUSTAINING grace. Then thank Him for the PEACE He gives which passes all understanding.
ONE LAST THOT: John specifically wrote to the seven churches “which are in Asia.” God knew exactly WHO they were and WHERE they were! It ought to bring a shout to your lips this morning to realize that no matter what you go through, God knows WHERE you are and WHAT you are going through!
