You’re Not Thinking Right

“The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.” (Prov. 12:5)

The Bible has a lot to say about your mind and what you think. What you think about will eventually control you. That is why Satan battles for control of our minds constantly. He knows that if he can defeat us mentally, he has us!

Our mind is where we struggle with fear, anxiety, worry, lust, anger, and bitterness. That is why Paul gives us a whole list of things to think about that will prevent Satan from getting a foothold in our mind (Phil. 4:8).

Out text verse says, “The thoughts of the righteous are right.” To have the right thought life, you must first be righteous. In other words, it means living right. If you are not living right, if you have sin in your life, your thought life will be all messed up. Your thought life will never be right when it is guided by your flesh instead of by the Holy Spirit.

If you think you are a worthless person with no value to God….you’re not thinking right.

If you think your sin is too bad to ever be forgiven…you’re not thinking right.

If you think that God cannot use you because of past mistakes…you’re not thinking right.

If you think that it is too late to start over with God…you’re not thinking right.

Satan wants to fill your mind with all kinds of thoughts of fear and doubt about God. But God loves you. He has always loved you and He will never stop loving you! So, stop giving Satan rental space in your head. Evict him, today! He has no right to your mind. Get your heart right with God and fill your mind with His Word. Otherwise…you’re not thinking right.
