3 Things You’ll Do When Jesus Touches You

“And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.” (2Thess. 3:4-5)

They say we have about 17,000 tactile receptors on our hands, with around 100 on each fingertip. God created us with thousands of sensory receptors in our skin that tell us about the world around us. Some are sensitive to pressure and pain, hot and cold, and even vibration. The numbers and locations of these receptors are not all the same.

Touch is very important to us, but it is also important to God. Our text verse gives us three things you will do when Jesus touches you.

1. YOU WILL OBEY GOD’S WORD

Paul said that when Jesus touches you, you will do the things which we command you.” You can tell someone whose life has been touched by the Lord; they are living in obedience to God’s Word.

2. YOU WILL HAVE A HEART FOR GOD

In (v.5) Paul said, “And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God…” A person who does not have a heart and passion for God has never been touched by Him. Or, at the very least, it has been so long since they were touched that they have forgotten what it was like when Jesus touched them.

3. YOU WILL LIVE IN LIGHT OF CHRIST’S RETURN

Lastly, Paul said, “and into the patient waiting for Christ.” When you are living for Jesus, you will be looking for His return. A person who has not been touched by Jesus does not think of His return. They are only living for themselves.

Has Jesus touched you? If not, reach out and touch Him right now in prayer. Once He touches you, you will never be the same!
