A Spy In The Sky

“For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.” (Prov. 5:21)

We live in the day where Big Brother is always watching you. There are cameras on just about every street corner. There are even certain apps on our cell phones which track our every move. On top of that, if you have a smartphone, it is probably listening to everything you say! It is enough to make a person paranoid.

One Sunday I was teaching my Sunday School Class and I said the word “Seriously” and all of the sudden my iPhone come alive and Siri said, “I will look that up for you!” #Creepy

What we forget is that long before there were satellites in the sky and GPS’s on our phones, there was a God in Heaven who heard and saw everything we did. In fact, if you decided tomorrow that you would live off the grid, so that no one could track you, you still could not get away from God.

The writer of Hebrews put it this way: “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do” (Heb. 4:13). In other words, you may be able to hide your actions from your spouse, your parents, or your pastor, but you cannot hide them from God. He sees it all! What a sobering thought.

God heard the gossip you spread on the telephone. He saw that website you viewed on the internet. He witnessed that picture you sent on Snapchat. He read that tweet and Facebook post you wrote. So, today, think about how your words and action reflect Jesus Christ. Because, even though others may not see, God does.
