A Thief’s Joyride To Waffle House

“It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.” (Prov. 10:23)

A woman is looking at theft charges after she stole an electric scooter from Walmart and took it on a joy ride to Waffle House. WPTV reported that Sally Selby, 45, was pulled over by police in Crossville, Tennessee, while riding the stolen cart. She told the officers she was driving it to Waffle House for a cup of coffee.

At first, when she was pulled over, Selby told police she had built the cart. But a Walmart surveillance video showed her enter the store, shop with the cart and then just drive the scooter out the store and keep going right on going through the parking lot.

In her defense, she at least had the decency to drive it in the slow lane. 🙂

The Bible says, “It is as sport to a fool to do mischief.” In other words, there are foolish people who think it is fun to do foolish things. They are known as fools by their foolish actions.

How are YOU known by others? What do YOUR actions say about the type of person you are? Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

If you don’t want to be thought of as a fool, don’t hang around with foolish people. Their foolishness will end up affecting you, too. Rather, hang around with those who are godly and wise. Then, maybe you can go to Waffle House for a cup of coffee without being arrested!
