Day #12 – (30 Days of Prayer)

“In prayer, it is better to have a heart without words, than words without heart.” — John Bunyan

A great temptation for many is to become mechanical in their prayers. It is so easy to rattle off a ‘memorized’ little prayer that really requires no thought. But that is not how God wants us to talk to Him. He doesn’t care if you use big words or flowery phrases. Those things do not impress Him.

Just as you would not want your spouse or children to come to you reading from a prepared manuscript, likewise, God just wants you to talk to Him from your heart. Sometimes your heart may be broken and all you can do is weep. But the great thing about God is…He even understands your tears!
