“Blessed be the name of God…he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” (Daniel 2:20-21)
Since we are celebrating our independence as a nation this week, and since America needs revival, I am focusing on ways to specifically pray for our nation and leaders. Yesterday, I gave you a specific prayer to pray for our nation, according to 2Chronicles 7:14.
Today, I want to focus on how to specifically pray for our President and Vice President.
In our text verse, we see that God removes kings and also sets them up. He gives them wisdom and knowledge. If there is anyone who needs wisdom and knowledge it is our President and Vice-President!
We have no idea the amount of opposition they face every moment of every day. The pressure must be incredible. There is pressure from liberals as well as conservatives. There is pressure from the powerful, the wealthy, and the wicked…all wanting them to make decisions that will benefit them.
How will they be able to cut through the clutter and make the right decisions for our country? They need wisdom and knowledge that only God can give them. How will they get it? Through prayer!
Here is a prayer you can begin praying for them right now. Of course, you can change this prayer to fit you, but this will at least get you started.
“Father, I thank you for America and the freedom You have given to us. I thank You for our leaders. Although they are not perfect, they are the leaders You have allowed to be over us. I ask that You give them the courage to make decisions that honor You despite the opposition. Give them Your wisdom, knowledge, and discernment. I ask that You bless and protect their marriage and children. Put a hedge of protection around them physically and, most of all, may they grow to love You more and more each day.”
