Sunday was “Pastor Appreciation” at our church. I can’t tell you how wonderful our church has been in recognizing the Pastor, Assistant Pastor, and our wives. In fact, I believe that is one reason the Lord has blessed Community Baptist Church so much. God always blesses those who bless his servants, and our church certainly does that!
Every year, I never know what to expect! It seems they get more and more creative every year and find new ways to surprise me. This year they simply told me that I was to take the day off and do nothing but sit on the front pew and enjoy the service. Well, if you are a pastor, you know that can make you veeeery nervous!
But what I didn’t know was they had secretly brought in my brother, Rodney, to preach for me. It was a real treat to see him and his wife, Paula, and to hear him preach again.
“Thank you,” Community Baptist Church, for all you have done and the love and appreciation you have shown to me and my family. God has truly given us a wonderful fellowship and we are thankful to get to serve the Lord here!
