Above The Clouds

“Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!” (Job 22:12)

Years ago we boarded an airplane, flying to visit a mission field. It was a dark, dreary day. As the airplane taxied down the runway, all you could see were dark clouds and rain coming down. The airplane took off and began to climb in altitude. We climbed higher and higher, then all of the sudden something surprising happened.

As I was looking out the window, I could see as we broke through the dark clouds. Almost instantly, all we saw was the sun shining above those clouds. There was no more darkness; there was no more rain. It all looked so cheery and calm. We were above it all.

I thought to myself, we are seeing our dreary day from God’s viewpoint! Above the clouds everything was good. Above the clouds there was no rain. The same day that was dark and dreary to us was bright and sunny to God.

Job said, “Is not God in the height of heaven?” In other words, as long as God is still on His throne, everything is going to be ok! It may seem like your life is one big dark cloud. It may seem as if the sun will never shine again, but God sees a different picture. It is never dark where God is!

Just stay faithful and keep on praying. Soon, you will break through the dark clouds of your circumstances and you will see a brighter day!
