Don’t Look Behind You!

“And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62)

Looking back at how God has blessed CBC, both amazes and humbles me. In 2014 we had 32 saved! 28 of those were baptized, and 22 people joined the church.

Looking back at what God has done can be encouraging, but looking back at what we did can be discouraging. Jesus said that one who is constantly looking back isn’t fit for the kingdom of God.

If you spend too much time looking back at things in your past, your past will discourage your present and defeat your future!

At the end of 2014, don’t look back, look forward. Don’t look back at:

1. SINS THAT HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN.
If your sin has been forgiven, let it go. If God said in Isaiah 43:25 He will not remember our sins, we must chose not to dwell upon them either.

2. DEFEATS THAT KNOCKED YOU DOWN.
We all have things in our past that we allowed to defeat us at one time. But if you dwell upon your PAST DEFEATS, they will become PRESENT DEFEATS. Give them to God and be thankful for His grace and mercy.

3. OLD CONFLICTS THAT MAKE YOU BITTER.
Some people will bury the hatchet, but leave the handle sticking out! They are always ready to re-open the wound. Determine you will not allow unresolved conflicts to go with you into 2015.

Let’s leave the past in the past. More than we need OUR PAST, we need HIS PRESENCE!!! So let’s move forward in 2015 for the glory of God!
