God’s Eraser

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isa. 43:25)

In the 1700’s, erasers had not yet been invented. Up until then, crusts of bread were used to erase marks on paper.

Then, one day, in 1770, British engineer Edward Nairne was reaching for a piece of bread to erase a mistake he had made on paper, but accidentally picked up a piece of latex rubber by mistake. He found that the piece of latex erased his error more effectively than the crust of bread, leaving only rubberized “crumbs” he could easily sweep away with his hand.

God tells us in Isaiah 43 that when we bring our sins and mistakes to the Lord—the Bread of Life—He can blot them out even better than the best eraser man can make!

When we make a mistake on paper that needs to be erased, we still remember that mistake. But the Bible says that when GOD blots out our sin, He “will not remember” it anymore! Praise the Lord!

Often, Satan will bring up some past mistake or sin in our lives in order to defeat us. But if that sin was confessed and given to God, it no longer exists! It’s been erased forever!

If there is sin in your life that you have NOT repented of, bring it to Jesus. Not only can He forgive your sin, but He can completely blot it out, never to be remembered again!
