It’s Jesus Calling

“And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.” (John 11:28)

Yesterday, we looked at the first part of this verse, where Mary said, “The Master is come.” Today I want to focus on the next phrase, “and calleth for thee.”

Can you imagine what Martha must have felt like when she heard the words “The Master…calleth for thee”? Here was the Creator of the world, God incarnate in the flesh and He was calling for Martha! Wow! What an honor. But guess what; He’s calling for you, too!

FIRST—Jesus Is Calling You For SALVATION.

If you have never trusted in Jesus Christ as your Savior, He is calling you! The creation around you speaks of a CREATOR, but He wants to be so much more than the Creator, He wants to be your SAVIOUR! When Jesus died on the cross, He was dying to pay for your sin and He is calling you to repent and put your trust in Him as your Saviour.

SECOND—Jesus Is Calling You For SERVICE.

Once you have been saved, God’s next call to you is for service. God didn’t save us to SIT; He saved us to SERVE! Sadly, there are believers who have been saved for years, but they are still sitting, instead of serving. Jesus is calling you to use your gifts and abilities for Him.

God has a plan for your life. He has something you can do for the Kingdom of God. If you are not involved in some area of service for Him, “The Master…calleth for thee.”
