Yesterday, we saw that what mattered most to Jesus, while He was on this earth, was ministering to hurting and hopeless people. Jesus said, in Luke 4:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” (Luke 4:18)
What are some things that should matter to us in life?
FIRST—Your “HEART” Matters.
You cannot adequately minister to others until you have allowed the Lord to first minster to you. If your heart is not right with God, you will not be able to effectively minister to others. If you heart is not right with God, nothing else in life really matters.
SECOND—Your “HOME” Matters.
Satan is launching an all-out attack on our homes. He is attacking husbands and wives, as well as our children. What good is it to have a thriving career if your home is a mess? All the toys and gifts in the world cannot make up for time not spent with your children and spouse. I’ve never heard of a man, on his deathbed, who said, “I wish I had spent more time at work.” Invest in your family. Why? Because your home matters.
THIRD—Your “HARVEST” Matters.
One of the main responsibilities of us as Christians is to lead others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We have been given the task and command to “preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). What good has the life God has given to us been if we die and never point anyone to Jesus?
Stop living your life for things that have no eternal significance. Start investing, today, in what really matters in life: your HEART, your HOME, and your HARVEST!
