A Word for the Worrywart

“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” Mark 6:25

The dictionary defines “Worrywart” as “a person who tends to worry habitually and often needlessly.” Are YOU a worrywart? Do you worry about everything? Well, the good news is that God has got a word for you!

1. He Reminds Us of the FOWLS of the AIR.

In (v.26) He says, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” Have you ever heard a bird fretting over not being able to pay rent for his bird nest? Have you ever heard them worrying over where the next worm is coming from to feed their babies?

Of course not! And Jesus said that if the Father meets their needs, will He not even MORE meet the needs of His children?

2. He Reminds Us of the FLOWERS of the FIELD.

In (v.28-29) He says, “And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Jesus said that if He cares enough for a simple flower that grows wildly in a field, how much MORE does He care for you?

Do you know what God’s word is to you, this morning? Don’t be such a WORRYWART!!! There is no problem too big for our God to handle, and there is nothing He loves more than His children. As long as you are living for Him and seeking to please Him with your life, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! Isn’t that a blessing!
