How to Have Peace in Perilous Times

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Tim. 3:1, 13)

We are living in troubling times. The Bible says that in the last days “perilous” (or dangerous) times would come. We are living in those days right now! These are indeed troubling times that are only going to get worse. The good news is that the Bible tells us how to have peace no matter how difficult our circumstances may become.

FIRST—Peace comes from PRAYING right.

(Phil. 4:6-7) says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

  • There must be a FAITHFULNESS to pray — “in every thing.”
  • There must be a FERVENCY to pray — “by prayer AND supplication”
  • There must be FAITH when we pray — “with thanksgiving” Faith thanks God before the answer comes!

After you have prayed right, the next verse says, THEN “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

When our prayer life ceases, our peace ceases, too! If you want peace in your life, begin by getting alone with God in your prayer closet, because the first step to peace is spending time with the Prince of Peace!
