Tonight is a BIG night for the world. Many simply see Halloween as a time for candy and costumes. But, as Christians, we realize that the origins of Halloween (and what it still represents today) are not so innocent.
Make no mistake about it, it is a night about darkness, devils, witches, and evils spirits. All things which the Bible teaches we are NOT to take part in. Col. 1:13 says that God has “delivered us from the power of darkness…”
So, tonight, we can dress up our children like the world does and teach them it is ok to celebrate a day which is about things believers should not celebrate OR we can use this as an opportunity to shine the LIGHT in the NIGHT!
Tonight our church will be having a “Trunks-of-Treats” outreach in the parking lot behind McDonald’s. We have secured permission from the owners. While we do NOT celebrate the DARKNESS, we DO want to shine some light IN the darkness tonight. We will be giving out candy along with gospel tracts, praying that on a night when people are out seeking CANDY, they may also be led to CHRIST!
Matt. 5:14 says we are to be “the light of the world,” so Christians, TURN ON YOUR NIGHT-LIGHT TONIGHT!
