When Chickens Come Home To Roost

“Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.” (Prov. 26:27)

Solomon gives us a principle here that is reiterated throughout the Bible and that principle is you will reap what you sow. King David said it this way in Psalm 7:16, “His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.” But this principle is most clearly given by Paul in Galatians 6:7 where he wrote, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

You are either in the sowing stage or the reaping stage. Think about what kind of harvest you want to reap and sow to that end. If you want to reap the right kind of harvest, you must sow the right kind of seed.

Think about what kind of ADULT you want your child to become and begin sowing those character traits in them while they are still young. What kind of Christian will your child be based on what you are sowing in their lives today?

Think about what kind of MARRIAGE you want to have and begin sowing to that end, right now. Don’t wait until your marriage is in trouble to seek help. Sow the right kind of marriage so you will reap the right kind of marriage.

Think about what kind of REWARDS you want to receive at the Judgment, and sow to that end. As long as you have breath, you can still sow more for Jesus Christ.

Your chickens will eventually come home to roost. Make sure you are sowing the right things, today, so that you will reap the right harvest in the end.
